The Indians and Giants are meeting for their fifth series ever -- four in the regular season plus the 1954 World Series. The two series these teams have played in San Francisco were both sweeps: the Indians won three straight in 2005 and the Giants won three straight in 2011, their most recent meeting.

Since 2011, Cleveland has gone 32-27 in interleague play thanks to a 3.29 team ERA (fifth in MLB). The Indians went 33-57 in interleague play over the previous six seasons, while their 4.69 team ERA ranked 23rd.

San Francisco broke out with 12 runs in Wednesday's series finale at Colorado after combining for 12 runs in its previous seven games. The Giants scored all 12 runs on home runs, the first time in club history that they have scored 12+ runs with all the runs coming via home runs.
