The Rangers have dominated Seattle in recent years, winning nine of 10 season series since 2004. Texas went 12-7 versus the Mariners last season, improving to 115-75 over the last 10 years.

The Mariners were shut out by Oakland on Sunday, 3-0. Seattle has now averaged 6.7 runs per game in their six victories, as opposed to 1.2 runs per game in their five losses.

For the second time in three days, the Rangers fashioned a 1-0 victory over Houston on Sunday. Texas had gone its previous 205 games without posting any 1-0 shutout wins
