Report: Cubs sign Villanueva
Free agent pitcher Carlos Villanueva has reportedly agreed to a contract with the Chicago Cubs, according to Jon Heyman of CBS Sports.
Villanueva, who split time between the starting rotation and bullpen with the Blue Jays last season, went 7-7 with a 4.16 ERA in 38 games in 2012. The 29-year-old right-hander has amassed a career record of 33-35 with a 4.26 ERA in 301 appearances, which includes 56 starts, in seven seasons with the Brewers and Blue Jays.
