Report: Napoli deal with Red Sox not yet official

According to a report from Ken Rosenthal, the Boston Red Sox' deal with free agent catcher Mike Napoli may be in jeopardy. Rosenthal reports that the Red Sox were scheduled to announce Napoli at a press conference on Tuesday but the event never occured. The deal was pending a physical, which Napoli was scheduled to undergo last Wednesday, but it has been reported that the physical took place more recently yet the deal is still not official.

Napoli signed a three-year, $39 million contract on December 3.
