Report: Braves to non-tender Jurrjens
According to a tweet from the Atlanta Journal-Constitutions' David O'Brien, the Atlanta Braves will not be tendering a contract to starting pitcher Jair Jurrjens. Jurrjens struggeld in 2012 after a stellar 2011 campaign going 3-4 with an ERA of 6.96 in just 11 games in a season that saw him first demoted to AAA and then was forced to undergo Tommy John surgery. In 2011, Jurrjens was selected to the all-star game in a campaign that saw him finish with a 13-6 record, an ERA of 2.96 and 90 strikeouts in 152 innings of work.
Jurjjens was due to make $5.5 million this coming season.
