Report: Mariners DFA Chone Figgins
The Seattle Mariners have designated infielder Chone Figgins for assignment, according to multiple reports.
The 34 year old Figgins has struggled since sigining a four year, $36 million contract with the Mariners prior to the 2010 season. In three seasons with the Mariners, Figgins hit .227, had a .302 on-base percentage and a .283 slugging percentage. He made $27 million in that span.
In eight seasons with the Angels prior to joining Seattle, Figgins hit .291 with an on-base percentage of .363 while slugging .388.
