Report: Braves sign Gerald Laird

The Atlanta Braves have signed catcher Gerald Laird, according to Ken Rosenthal.

Laird played last season for the Detroit Tigers, hitting .282 in 63 games with two home runs and 11 RBI.

The Braves acted quickly to replace last seasons back up catcher, David Ross, who signed a two-year deal with Boston last week.
