Report: Rangers considering Zack Greinke

According to a report from MLB.com's T.R. Sullivan, the Texas Rangers are "seriously considering" trying to acquire free agent pitcher Zack Greinke. The 29-year-old is coming off a very strong year which saw him start 34 games for the Milwaukee Brewers and the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and finish with a record of 15-5 with an ERA of 3.48 and 200 strikeouts.

The Angels will also be making an offer to Greinke in an attempt to get him to re-sign with the team and have reportedly made doing so their top priority in the offseason. The Rangers will also have to contend with the rest of the league for the right hander as Greinke is one of the top free agents hitting the market this year.

Last season, Greinke became the first player since 1920 to record 13 strikeouts in five innings or less when he did it against the Seattle Mariners.
