Padres give Street extension
San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres have agreed to terms with pitcher Huston Street on a contract extension through the 2014 season.
The two-year extension is worth a reported $14 million, with a club option for 2015.
Street was acquired by the Padres this past offseason in a two-player trade with the Colorado Rockies. He is 2-0 with 17 saves and a 0.91 earned run average in 31 games for San Diego this year.
The 28-year-old Street played in his first-career All-Star game earlier this month.
Over 448 career relief outings with the Athletics (2005-08), Rockies (2009-11) and Padres (2012), Street is 32-21 with 195 saves, a 2.97 ERA and 480 strikeouts against 119 walks.
