Gallardo (6-5) lasted 6.2 innings Wednesday against the Jays, giving up three runs on seven hits and two walks. He struck out seven.

Analysis: Gallardo had a real gem going before running into trouble in the seventh, and against a tough offense, too. He's strung three straight quality starts together since giving up five runs to the Cubs on June 5. He also helped himself with the bat in this one, hitting a double and coming around to score; usually a good hitter for a pitcher, he'd struggled at the plate early in the year.
