Kevin Gameiro's double continues Sevilla's rise

Madrid - Sevilla moved up to fifth in La Liga with its ninth consecutive home victory in all competitions thanks to Kevin Gameiro's quickfire double in a 2-1 win over Malaga.

The Frenchman scored twice in two minutes just before half-time to take his tally for the season to 14.

Charles pulled a goal back for the visitors before both sides were reduced to 10 men late on with red cards for Vicente Iborra and Arthur Boka, but Sevilla held on to inflict Malaga's first league defeat since November.

League leader Atletico Madrid, Barcelona, and Real Madrid are all in action on Sunday when they face Las Palmas, Athletic Bilbao, and Sporting de Gijon respectively.
