Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has leafed through his old address book, made a few calls, and produced the loan signing of Athletic Bilbao striker Enrique Sola.
Karanka hails from the Basque region and represented its most successful club as a player between 2002-2006, and has used his old contacts to broker a deal for another forward.
He joins Kike, Cristhian Stuani, Diego Fabbrini, and David Nugent in Boro's attacking ranks.
"He's bringing us something we don't have," Aitor Karanka told BBC Tees.
"He's another striker, he's a second striker or sometimes number 10. His skills are different and he can play English football because he is strong and his skills are good."
Sola is expected to be named in the matchday squad for Saturday's trip to Bristol City.
