As if Cristiano Ronaldo's considerable ego didn't take too much of a hit when rival Lionel Messi beat him to the Ballon d'Or on Monday, someone painted the Barcelona star's name and iconic number on the back of a statue dedicated to the Portuguese in his hometown of Funchal.
The act on the Real Madrid man's statue has caused consternation in the island of Madeira's capital city, with Ronaldo's sister labelling those responsible "savages," according to AS.
It's not the first time this tribute to one of Portugal's finest has hit the headlines, with certain publications claiming it to be rather generous in the shorts department in the past.
