Atletico Madrid's Juanfran cleared to play vs. Galatasaray
Atletico Madrid received good news ahead of its next Champions League match with Juanfran's return to training Monday after two weeks on the sidelines with a thigh injury.
Juanfran's return to training could be followed by a return to the pitch in time for Atletico Madrid's next match Wednesday if manager Diego Simeone elects to deploy him at the Vicente Calderon against Galatasaray.
The Spanish international suffered the muscle injury during a La Liga fixture against Sporting Gijon, also forcing him to miss an international friendly against England.
His return could coincide with Atletico Madrid's efforts to secure a berth in the knockout round of the Champions League. The Spanish side currently sits two points back of Benfica, but could clinch a spot in the Round of 16 with a point against the Turkish giants.
