Valencia's Alvaro Negredo undergoes emergency appendectomy

Valencia striker Alvaro Negredo, who last featured for the La Liga club early in October, underwent emergency surgery on Monday afternoon for appendicitis.
The 30-year-old could face another month out of the lineup with this latest setback, but an ongoing disagreement with manager Nuno has reportedly kept Negredo out of the match-day squad anyway.
"Alvaro Negredo underwent surgery on Monday afternoon after being diagnosed with an acute appendicitis," read a statement on Valencia's website.
With just two goals and nine appearances in all competitions, Negredo has slipped far down the pecking order. He completed a permanent €30-million transfer from Manchester City after spending the 2014-15 season on loan.
