Xavi on Neymar's perceived showboating: 'He should seriously think about how he acts'
Barcelona legend Xavi, who was officially unveiled by Qatari side Al Sadd earlier this week, has some thoughts on his now-former teammate Neymar.
The Brazilian came under fire after the Copa del Rey final. Neymar attempted to beat a defender with a rainbow flick in the latter stages of the contest, at which point the Blaugrana had already secured the win.
Xavi, now conveniently safe from any real backlash, said the 23-year-old should examine the way he carries himself on the pitch.
"He should seriously think about how he acts (in the future)," he told Sport on Thursday, as quoted by ESPN FC.
"I understand people's attitudes to his (rainbow flick) against Athletic Bilbao in the Copa (del Rey). Some saw it as a lack of respect."
He continued:
"Those things in Brazil are accepted, but not so much (in Spain). He should reflect on it because he's an extraordinary guy, a hard worker and humble.
"But he has this Brazilian trait, which sees such things as part of the show. (In Spain), it looks like a lack of respect."
