PHOTOS: FIFA charges inspire Sepp Blatter puns, cartoons worldwide
The spectacular scenes that saw several top FIFA officials arrested Wednesday in Zurich on corruption charges - and the explosive details that continue to emerge in the aftermath - have inspired widespread reaction throughout not only the footballing community, but the world.
Everyone is having their say on the U.S. Justice Department's attempt to rid football's governing body of the corruption it's long harboured. Various newspapers and magazines were quick to offer their comic takes on the situation - though some fared better than others.
The Sun, like the Daily Mirror, went for the obvious:
English daily Metro said what every Englishman was thinking about the country's 2018 World Cup bid (a tournament which was ultimately awarded to Russia).
French newspaper Liberation had one of the more enjoyable front pages of the day, though Marlon Brando would be rolling in his grave if he knew his iconic Vito Corleone character was considered equivalent to Sepp Blatter.
