The world football governing body was dealt a devastating blow Wednesday after nine officials were indicted on corruption charges.

While this latest calamity to hit FIFA is in its infancy in terms of the Justice Department's investigation into years of corruption, bribes, and other shady business procedures, some of the key officials arrested confirm what many have suspected for years while others involved have rarely been linked with misfeasance.

Here's a quick look at the officials facing extradition to the U.S. on charges that include more than $150 million in bribes:

Jeffrey Webb

Jeffrey Webb is the president of CONCACAF and vice-president of FIFA. He might be considered the most surprising official involved in the Justice Department's investigation after seemingly avoiding any connections to corruption.

But when you consider that his predecessor, Jack Warner, has been one of the most scrutinized figures after years of corruption allegations, Webb's inclusion should not come as a major surprise.

He's also been tipped by Sepp Blatter to be the next FIFA president, if the Swiss international ever decides to relinquish the position. So he's got that going against him as well.

Jack Warner

Critics of FIFA could have seen this one coming for years, as Jack Warner, former president of CONCACAF, was among the nine officials charged.

Although the native from Trinidad and Tobago no longer holds a position within the organization after resigning from his position in 2011, Warner has been connected with exploiting his position as the head of one of the six confederations that make up FIFA for financial gain.

Eugenio Figueredo

Eugenio Figueredo currently holds the role as FIFA vice-president following reigns as the president of the Uruguayan Football Association and president of CONMEBOL.

He was the head of the South American confederation for a brief period following Nicolás Leoz's resignation amidst corruption allegations.

Nicolas Leoz

Nicolas Leoz is a Paraguayan international who formerly held roles in FIFA's executive committee and president of CONMEBOL.

Among other ludicrous requests, he is reported to have asked the English Football Association for a knighthood if they wanted his support for their bid to host the World Cup in 2018. Leoz denied this and other allegations made towards him and stepped down from his position because of poor health.

Eduardo Li

Eduardo Li is the president of the Costa Rican Football Federation and is line to join FIFA's powerful executive committee Friday during the FIFA Congress.

Jose Maria Marin

Jose Maria Marin served as president of the Brazilian Football Confederation from March 2013 to April 2015

Rafael Esquivel

Rafael Esquivel is the president of the Venezuelan Football Federation since 1988 and executive member of CONMEBOL.

Julio Rocha

Julio Rocha is the former president of the Nicaraguan Federation of Football. He currently holds the position as a development officer with FIFA.

Costas Takkas

Costas Takkas is a British citizen that has worked closely with Webb.
