VIDEO: Cristiano Ronaldo bids farewell to old enemy Steven Gerrard
Although they were bitter foes on the pitch during several years in the Premier League, Cristiano Ronaldo offered a heartfelt goodbye to Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard.
Ronaldo, who started his Manchester United career in 2003 before joining Real Madrid six years later, took time out of his training session to reveal the honour it was for him to have played against Gerrard at the club and international level.
The pair clashed on a yearly basis during the heated rivalry between the two north English clubs, with their last meeting occurring during the Champions League when Liverpool fell to Real Madrid 1-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu during the group stage in Nov. 2014.
Gerrard will play his final Liverpool match against Stoke City on May 24 before joining the LA Galaxy.
