El Clasico is living up to the billing during the early stages of Sunday's clash.

Real Madrid found an answer to Jeremy Mathieu's opener for Barcelona with a beautiful goal of their own just after the half-hour mark.

Barca had a perfect opportunity to double its lead, but paid dearly just minutes later when Cristiano Ronaldo capped off Real Madrid's clever  passing sequence.

A powerful cross into the Real Madrid box found Neymar's foot, but the Brazilian failed to gain control as Iker Casillas calmly collected the ball.

Madrid then found themselves on the attack, as Luka Modric's pass to Karim Benzema produced a cheeky back-heel pass from the French striker to a surging Ronaldo.

As Barca defenders closed in, Ronaldo made sure to get an effort on goal and slid to make contact as the ball thumped the back of the net.
