Valencia reportedly rejected a handsome sum for the services of Nicolas Otamendi.
According to Sky Sports, an unnamed club made a bid of nearly £27 million for Otamendi that was ultimately rejected, indicating just how highly Valencia value the Argentine centre-back that they signed from Porto last year.
Sky Sports' own Spanish football expert Guillem Balague recently stated that it was Manchester United who made the bid, but sources inside Old Trafford have strongly denied that claim.
Otamendi has started 18 of Valencia's 19 La Liga fixtures this season, playing a lead role in the club's backline while adding two goals for good measure.
