Ronaldinho congratulates former teammate Messi on scoring record
The tributes continue to pour in for the greatest goalscorer Spanish football has ever seen.
With three goals in Barcelona's 5-1 victory over Sevilla on Saturday, Lionel Messi surpassed Telmo Zarra atop the all-time La Liga scoring list with 253 tallies.
As expected, the football world stopped for a moment to congratulate the Argentine start on his incredible achievement. Among others, former teammate Ronaldinho took to his Instagram account to offer a congratulatory message to the man who supplanted him as the undisputed king of the Camp Nou.
The photo was accompanied by the following note:
Congratulations my friend, you deserve it... Being part of this story is very rewarding and seeing you today is a great pride, you conquered us all with your humility and talent!!! Congratulations Leo, family and Barcelona, you're awesome!!!
It's fitting really, considering that Messi's first-ever La Liga goal was set up by none other than the magical Brazilian midfielder.
