Only hours after he took the pitch in Spain's 4-0 away win over Luxembourg in Euro 2016 qualifying, Gerard Pique reportedly landed himself in hot water with la Guardia Urbana, Barcelona's municipal police force.

According to Spanish daily La Vanguardia, Pique and his brother, Marc, were confronted by two police officers after leaving their car, which was parked in a bus lane for 15 minutes, at 2:30 a.m. Sunday night. Marc was fined for a traffic infraction, reportedly leading the Barcelona centre-back to unleash some of the following phrases at the authorities:

  • "You're jealous because I'm famous."
  • "You're fining me because you work on commission, because you don't have any money and you need the commission."
  • "This complaint won't amount to anything because I'll call your boss and he'll remove it."
  • "I'm going to talk with your bosses and your hair will fall out."
  • "You're pimps and you think the world loves you for wearing that uniform and fining people."
  • "This fine will be paid by your dad."
  • "You're an embarrassment, your job makes me sick and the Guardia Urbana is a f---ing embarrassment."

Pique, who reportedly also rolled the fine into a paper ball and threw it at the police officers, is accused of a lack of respect as well as disobedience towards authority, and will have to respond to a judge.
