Report: Barcelona to name main training pitch after Tito Vilanova
Following the tragic death of former Barcelona manager Tito Vilanova in April, players and supporters instantly responded with a series of tributes. Three days of mourning were decreed by the Catalan club, a moment of silence was observed before their subsequent match and a banner was unveiled at Camp Nou in remembrance of his legacy.
More than four months later, the tributes continue.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona's board of directors unanimously approved the idea of naming their main training pitch after Vilanova on Monday. The pitch will hereby be known as "Campo de Entrenamiento Tito Vilanova."
Vilanova started out as an assistant to Pep Guardiola in 2008, before taking over as Barcelona's manager ahead of the 2012-13 campaign and guiding them to the La Liga title the following season.
