Ex-German international calls for Ozil to be dropped from starting lineup

Former German international Paul Breitner is not impressed with Mesut Ozil's play in Brazil, stating the Arsenal midfielder should be dropped from the starting lineup.

The ex-Bayern Munich and Real Madrid star is calling on Joachim Low to do the right thing and drop Ozil before it's too late.

Via the Daily Mail:

If Joachim Low is brave and says that he doesn't want to play with just ten players, he will leave Mesut Ozil out of the next match.

It would be a step towards the World Cup title and above all a step forward for the team.

Nine players go out there and give everything for 90 minutes and one other does nothing but walk around on the pitch.

At a World Cup, that can't happen. Joachim Low has to come out of his shadow and give a reaction.

Breitner isn't alone. German newspaper Bild called on Low to replace Ozil with  Andre Schurrle before Die Mannschaft's quarterfinal versus France.

Low stayed with Ozil then, and will likely do so for Germany's semifinal versus Brazil.
