Real Madrid withdraws 357 season tickets after irregular use at El Clasico

The improper use of season tickets was among countless subplots unfolding Sunday at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Real Madrid announced Tuesday the withdrawal of 357 season tickets after Los Blancos detected they were used improperly at El Clasico. The decision was prompted by the large of number of Barcelona fans in the home end of the Santiago Bernabeu, reports Marca, adding that a number of complaints followed the game.

"The sale of season tickets, without authorisation from the club, its non-free transfer, its auction, or its use for commercial purposes is explicitly prohibited," Real Madrid said in a statement. "The titled owner of the season ticket is responsible for the proper use of it, as included in the rules of access to the Santiago Bernabeu stadium and in the season ticket itself."

Prior to El Clasico, Real Madrid had already opened 1,450 files of expulsion regarding season-ticket holders due to ticket resale.
