Clashing colours force Osasuna to wear new kit for Barcelona match

Orange better bring luck.

To avoid a potential clash of colours on television, a La Liga broadcaster has ordered Osasuna to wear a brand-new orange kit Wednesday against Barcelona.

Osasuna, already preoccupied with the threat of relegation, revealed the new shirt on Twitter:

When the two clubs played in December in the Basque Country, Barcelona wore its teal away strip, while Osasuna donned its traditional red outfit.

This time around, Barcelona has apparently insisted on using its home kit. According to AS, La Liga television rights holder Mediaset said it's too similar to Osasuna's red shirt or away green, and asked the club to create a one-off kit for the match.

Osasuna lost the first match 3-0 thanks to goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi. A defeat at the Camp Nou this week, coupled with a Leganes win over Las Palmas, would condemn Petar Vasiljevic's side to the second division.

Osasuna is currently dead last with 18 points from 33 matches.
