Barcelona's Arda Turan ruled out 3 weeks with groin problem

Barcelona will be without Arda Turan for the next three weeks as the midfielder recovers from a groin injury he picked up while on international duty with Turkey, the Spanish side announced Wednesday.

Turan managed to play the entirety of Turkey's World Cup qualifying win over Finland but was forced to sit out Sunday during a friendly against Moldova.

A statement on the team's website said that an injury to the adductor muscle was discovered in Turan's groin following tests conducted by Barca's medical staff.

The recovery period will likely see Turan miss the first leg of Barcelona's Champions League quarter-final encounter with Juventus, as well as league matches against Granada, Sevilla, Malaga, and Real Sociedad.

He could, however, have a chance to be available for either the second leg at the Camp Nou on April 19, or El Clasico on April 23 against Real Madrid.

In total, Turan has been forced to miss nine matches through injury or illness during a frustrating third season in the Catalan capital, having made just 17 league appearances.
