Real Madrid bounced back from two successive defeats Saturday with a 2-1 La Liga victory over Malaga CF, but the victory reportedly came at quite a cost.

According to Marca's Santiago Siguero, both Luka Modric and Marcelo are out for three-to-four weeks after suffering knocks against Malaga, and the two players are waiting for official confirmation from medical tests that will take place Monday. The Croatian midfielder exited the pitch in the 78th minute and was replaced by Mateo Kovacic, while the Brazilian left-back only lasted 25 minutes before making way for Isco.

"Luka had a bit of discomfort but I hope it's not too serious," Zinedine Zidane said after the fixture. "Marcelo is a bit more difficult, we'll find out tomorrow after the scan."

The treatment room at the Santiago Bernabeu is beginning to look crowded. Cristiano Ronaldo will reportedly be examined by Real Madrid's staff due to a wound on his hand and a blow he received on Saturday, Dani Carvajal is nursing a hamstring injury, Pepe is recovering from a calf ailment, and Gareth Bale is apparently unlikely to return before April because of an ankle problem.

The depth of Real Madrid's squad will next be tested Wednesday, when Los Blancos visit Celta Vigo in the Copa del Rey's quarter-finals and try to overturn a 2-1 deficit in the second leg.
