Deportivo La Coruna has snapped up winger Gael Kakuta on a season-long loan from Hebei China Fortune.

The Chelsea academy product chased the riches of Asia last February in a €5-million move from Sevilla, but returns to Spain amid reports from The Sun's Fred Nathan that he was attracting interest from Swansea City.

Kakuta, 25, predominantly crops up on the left flank and will vie with youngster Marlos Moreno, a loanee from Manchester City, the currently sidelined Bruno Gama, and Faycal Fajr, who's away with Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations, for a spot in Gaizka Garitano's lineup.

Kakuta had a series of loan spells away from Chelsea during his time in London, including with Vitesse Arnhem, Lazio, and Rayo Vallecano, and helped Hebei China Fortune to seventh place in its division with one goal in 24 appearances.

Deportivo takes on Las Palmas in Gran Canaria on Friday.
