Weird week in football: Lilywhites and petty fights

@BBCSport/Twitter

Every Monday, theScore will highlight the most outlandish moments from the wacky, sometimes daft, and perennially entertaining world of European football. Here's what made us smile - or cringe - on the pitch this past week.

In a week where Ben Woodburn became Liverpool's youngest scorer ever, Zinedine's son Enzo Zidane bagged his first Real Madrid goal, and shot-stopper Oscarine Masuluke set a new standard for the dramatic, there was plenty of the peculiar in football to momentarily shift our focus from what's been a challenging spell for the sport.

Wowee zowee, here's a look at the weird week in football:

CD Guijuelo ham it up

... now club medic Dr. David Nufrio is taking the pitch with a medical bag shaped like the pork product made famous by the culinary exploits of the Iberian peninsula.

Metz supporter mars Ligue 1 action

In football, the peculiar and the idiotic are not always mutually exclusive. A daft Metz supporter proved as much Saturday at the Stade Saint-Symphorien when a firework was thrown within inches of Lyon shot-stopper Anthony Lopes.

The Portuguese Euro 2016 winner was later taken to hospital for tests after the match was abandoned in the 30th minute.

Thankfully for Lopes, temporary post-traumatic hearing loss was the worst of it, and the 26-year-old French-born shot-stopper escaped permanent damage.

So you think you can dance, Adilson?

FC Terek Grozny may think twice the next time it decides to play it out short from the back after Brazilian midfielder Adilson's calamitous dance moves resulted in a second goal for host Lokomotiv Moscow.

Full credit to Lokomotiv attacker Manuel Fernandes for the deft chip that cemented a 2-0 victory and condolences to Adilson's two left feet.

Round 1 ... Fight!

Already down 2-1 to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, Preston North End pair Jermaine Beckford and Eoin Doyle decided to add insult to injury with an injury-time brouhaha.

Both Beckford and Doyle were promptly shown red cards in their revisitation of the Magpie Melee of 2005, which witnessed Newcastle midfielders Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer square off during a league match at St. James' Park.

Thankfully for Lilywhites who made the trip, the club announced Monday that it was refunding the ticket cost in light of the Beckford-Doyle donnybrook.

Spoiler alert: Atlanta United FC's new No. 10 is ...

MLS expansion side Atlanta United FC tweeted Saturday in an attempt to drum up some speculation over its next signing, but the league's 21st side may have unintentionally spilled the beans by doing so.

It would appear as if attacking mid Miguel Almiron is the next name set to join Gerardo Martino's ranks ahead of the club's maiden voyage in North America's top flight. Oops.

The Paraguayan international's appearance at Sunday's Atlanta Falcons game should dispel any doubts.

What's that, Arsene?

It would appear that Arsenal's beatdown of a hapless West Ham on Saturday satiated Arsene Wenger's hunger for both goals and sweets.

"Arsene, how did that get on your jumper, mate?"

"Ewhhhh, from where I was standing, I could not see the incident in question."
