Saul Niguez leaves Spain squad with foot injury

Spanish players continue to drop like flies after Saul Niguez became the latest to be sidelined with an injury for the squad.

The Atletico Madrid midfielder decided to return to Spain after sustaining a foot injury Thursday against Italy, the Spanish football association announced Friday.

The country's medical staff examined him during Friday's training session before he opted to return to Madrid where he will be monitored by Atletico's doctors.

Spain did not immediately announce a time frame for his return, or a replacement ahead of Sunday's game against Albania.
