Watch: Las Palmas humbles Real Madrid with late equaliser

Reuters

Las Palmas substitute Sergio Araujo scored a chaotic equaliser in the 85th minute to steal a point from Real Madrid in Saturday's 2-2 draw.

Madrid 'keeper Kiko Casilla made a mess of the play as he moved away from goal to chase down Araujo. The Argentine striker made his way around the shot-stopper and tapped in an easy finish.

Zinedine Zidane earlier yanked Cristiano Ronaldo 13 minutes before Araujo found the net. Madrid led 2-1 at that point, but Ronaldo, who didn't look like his free-scoring self in the Canary Islands, was clearly unhappy with the substitution.

Marco Asensio headed Los Blancos into the lead in the opening stanza, before midfielder Tana soon levelled the score.

Karim Benzema then entered the game in the second half and potted the go-ahead strike, but the advantage didn't last long.

Madrid's now lost control of its La Liga lead to Barcelona, dropping four points this week alone. The club's record 16-match winning streak came to end Wednesday with a 1-1 draw against Villarreal.
