Suarez bites back at Filipe Luis' Instagram complaint

Luis Suarez has not taken kindly to Atletico Madrid's Filipe Luis' veiled social media dig at the Barcelona star apparently leaving his studs in during a tackle on Wednesday.

The incident occurred in the 83rd minute of the two sides' 1-1 La Liga draw, with Suarez receiving a caution from referee David Fernandez for his challenge.

Luis later took to Instagram with a photo of the injury accompanied by the ironic caption of "At least he didn't touch me."

Menos mal que no me toca! 🙈

But Suarez wasn't impressed by Luis publicising the cuts and bruises that come with being a professional footballer.

"Football is for men," Suarez told reporters upon learning of Luis' photo.

"Everything stays on the pitch. If everyone uploaded what happens (on the pitch to social media accounts) the game would become a circus."

In the midweek tilt at the Camp Nou, Ivan Rakitic's first-half header was cancelled out by Angel Correa captilising on some dithering by the Barcelona defence in the second stanza.

The draw meant Real Madrid kept a two-point advantage over Sevilla atop Spanish football, leaving Barcelona three points short and Atletico Madrid adrift of first place by four points.
