Report: Alcacer pleads with Valencia to allow Barcelona switch

Valencia forward Paco Alcacer has reportedly asked the club not to stand in the way of a high-profile move to Barcelona.

Multiple reports claim that Alcacer, 22, has requested that Los Che president Layhoon Chan authorise the move to the Camp Nou amid a summer of interest from the Catalan giant, with both Luis Enrique and sporting director Robert Fernandez conceding the need for another forward.

After Valencia manager Pako Ayestaran conceded that Alcacer was not for sale following Monday's 4-2 loss to Las Palmas, reports have surfaced that Barcelona has already agreed to a five-year deal and an initial fee of €30 million with club owner Peter Lim.

Having already seen prodigious Portuguese Euro winner Andre Gomes dump the Mestalla for Barcelona, Ayestaran and Co. are desperate to block a second marquee player signing with the reigning La Liga champ.

They may not have a choice, as Barcelona typically gets what it wants, prompting speculation that La Masia grad Munir El-Haddadi could go the other way in a deal for Alcacer to appease Valencia

With 43 goals in 123 appearances for Valencia, Alcacer has been a massive part of Valencia's plans since progressing from the youth ranks in 2009. He led the club last season in goals (13) and assists (six) as it recovered from a dismal spell under Gary Neville to finish 12th in the table.
