Sevilla's Iborra: 'We can harm' Real Madrid in UEFA Super Cup

Sevilla captain Vicente Iborra has stressed that his club isn't turning up to the UEFA Super Cup final just to make up the numbers, and that it intends to make Real Madrid as uncomfortable as possible in Norway on Tuesday.

The two Spanish clubs, winners of the Champions League and Europa League respectively, will line up at Trondheim's Lerkendal Stadion, and although Sevilla's the clear underdog, Iborra backs his side to make a game of it.

"For us, Madrid are the favourites, as they almost always are," admitted the 28-year-old midfielder. "But that doesn't mean we have come here to see what happens. We have come here with the idea of being the protagonists in this final and we want to win it."

Iborra understands the accusations of the Andalusians being unsettled following the exit of Unai Emery to Paris Saint-Germain after he steered Sevilla to three straight Europa League triumphs, but says the players "always maintain our identity."

The skipper added: "We've come here to win, to put in an intense game and not let Madrid even catch their breath. We have our own weapons with which we can harm them."

In the wake of Kevin Gameiro's sensational transfer to rival Atletico Madrid, the most likely attackers to put Los Blancos to the sword on Tuesday include new signings Wissam Ben Yedder and Franco Vazquez.
