Valencia snatches Montoya after Barcelona terminates his contract
Martin Montoya completed a free transfer to Valencia on Monday after reaching an agreement with Barcelona to cancel his contract.
Montoya had two years remaining on his deal with the Blaugrana.

After coming through La Masia, Montoya struggled to earn regular minutes with the senior team at the Camp Nou. He began the 2015-16 campaign on loan at Inter, but playing was made no easier there. He spent the second half of the season at Real Betis, making 13 appearances.
Valencia pounced on the opportunity to sign a Barcelona player who clearly saw no future in the Catalan capital. Montoya is Los Che's third coup of the summer after Real Madrid outcast Alvaro Medran and Nani from Fenerbahce.
Montoya is also capable of slotting into a left-back role, but he will predominantly compete for playing time with Joao Cancelo on the right flank.
