Having filled a void at Euro 2016, Shkodran Mustafi is reportedly wanted to fill a void at the Emirates Stadium.

According to Sky Germany, Arsenal is in talks to sign Mustafi from Valencia but there have been no offers made yet. The German centre-back's release clause is apparently valued at €50 million (£42.1 million), but the Gunners may be able to sign the 24-year-old for €30.1 million (£25.3 million) plus another €10 million (£8.4 million) in add-ons.

At Euro 2016, in Germany's first fixture of the tournament, Mustafi was named to Joachim Low's starting XI after Mats Hummels and Antonio Rudiger suffered injuries. He then scored Die Mannschaft's first goal of the competition as the reigning World Cup champion defeated Ukraine 2-0.

After Per Mertesacker picked up a knee injury that will reportedly keep him on the sidelines for up to five months, Arsene Wenger acknowledged that Arsenal needs to sign a defender, saying: "We have to look for an option to get a bit more experience."

Mustafi, a product of Everton who joined Valencia from Sampdoria in 2014, made 30 La Liga appearances for Los Che last season.
