Ronaldo allays fears over training injury: Just a dead leg, I'll be fine

Cristiano Ronaldo is going to be just fine, thank you very much.

The Real Madrid megastar was forced to leave Los Blancos' training session Tuesday after sustaining an apparent thigh problem in a collision with goalkeeper Kiko Casilla. But he was quick to assuage fears over his fitness, telling reporters that he expects nothing less than to be on the pitch at the San Siro for Saturday's Champions League final against Atletico Madrid.

"I am fine. I had a little problem in training, a dead leg as they say here, but tomorrow or the next day I will be fine," the Portuguese attacker said Tuesday, according to Yahoo Sports.

Ronaldo, 31, will be looking to help Real capture its 11th Champions League crown in a rematch of the 2014 final, which saw his side claim the vaunted Decima by virtue of a 4-1 extra time win.

In addition, the club's leading scorer could also surpass his own single-season record for Champions League tallies; he sits on 16, and would need a brace to break his own mark of 17 from the 2013-14 campaign.

He's not focusing on that individual accolade, however.

"It would be nice to equal or even pass the record, but I am not obsessed with that because the most important thing is to win," he added.
