Watch: Players, fans beat referee in Argentina

Referees were targeted by angry football players and fans during a violent altercation in Argentina.
Video of the incident shows players surrounding the match official before a fan enters the fray and throws a punch, A melee ensued as some players and security officials attempted to shield the referee.
However, the overwhelming presence of angry supporters and players proved to be too much as referees were thrown to the ground and beaten .
Although there were three men on the officiating staff, one of them appears to have been the primary target of the angry mob after pictures of his injuries emerged online:
Football journalist Juan G. Arango relayed reports that Argentine football could be suspended at every level because of the violence against the match officials.
