Khabibulin convicted of impaired driving
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. - Edmonton Oilers goalie Nikolai Khabibulin has been convicted of impaired driving and could face jail time.
Khabibulin appeared before an Arizona judge Friday where he was convicted of driving with a blood alcohol level in excess of .08, extreme driving under the influence with a blood alcohol of .15 or more, and excessive speed.
The charges were laid after he was pulled over in February for going 110 km/h in a 85 km/h zone and then failed a breath test.
One count of DUI with impairment to the slightest was dropped.
Khabibulin could face up to six months behind bars.
No date for sentencing has been set.
