La. Tech football suspends four
Ruston, LA (Sports Network) - Louisiana Tech head football coach Sonny Dykes announced indefinite suspensions Friday for four players due to a violation of team rules.
The four in question, wide receivers Tim Molton, R.P. Stuart and Cruz Williams and linebacker Kiamni Washington -- were suspended retroactive to August 23. None of the players have participated in any team meetings or practices since Monday.
Washington, a senior, suffered through an injury-plagued 2009 and recorded just 10 tackles in eight games. Stuart, a junior, caught 17 passes for 249 yards and a touchdown in nine games last year, while the redshirt sophomore Williams hauled in three scores and racked up 259 yards on 15 grabs in 12 games.
Molton, a former LSU Tiger, was due to be a redshirt sophomore as well after sitting out the 2009 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
Louisiana Tech is entering its first season under Dykes and open the 2010 campaign September 4 against Grambling.
