Bengals sign Owens to one-year contract
Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - A report on the Cincinnati Bengals' website cites a league source as saying the team has agreed to terms on a one- year contract with wide receiver Terrell Owens.
The source indicated Owens is expected to be in attendance on the first day of the team's training camp on Thursday. ESPN reports the deal is for $2 million with another $2 million in incentives.
A 14-year NFL veteran, Owens spent last season with the Buffalo Bills, catching 55 passes for 829 yards and five touchdowns.
The St. Louis Rams and New York Jets were also reportedly involved in the bidding but later dropped out.
The 36-year-old Owens was originally drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the third-round of the 1996 draft, Owens has 14,951 career receiving yards and 144 touchdowns while playing for the 49ers, Eagles, Cowboys, and Bills.
