Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh have teamed up together with the Miami Heat. LeBron James may be on his way too, completing Miami's massive free agent splash.
Multiple sources tell Newsday that James, who will announce his decision in an unprecedented one-hour TV special on ESPN Thursday at 9 p.m. ET, "is expected to choose the Heat."
Meanwhile, ESPN's Chris Broussard, wrote on Twitter early Thursday that, according to his sources, James will join Miami "barring a late change of heart."
Wade and Bosh confirmed earlier reports and announced their intention to sign with the Heat during an ESPN interview Wednesday afternoon. Although negotiations have been permitted since the NBA's free agency period began on July 1, players cannot officially sign until Thursday.
A report by Ken Burger of CBSSports.com cites league sources who say that Miami is intensely pursuing James and looking to "get the big fish."
While Bosh made his decision official, it still remains unclear whether or not he will sign with the Heat outright or work with the Raptors to negotiate a sign-and-trade deal.
Bosh did not mention a deal in progress during the interview. The five-time all-star can earn more through a sign-and-trade with Toronto, pulling in a maximum contract of $125 million over six years. However, if Bosh chooses to sign with Miami independently he can only be given $96 million.
