Votto remains undecided about playing in WBC
UPDATE: With the World Baseball Classic set to begin for Canada March 8th, Reds first baseman Joey Votto is still unsure if he will be playing in the tournament as a member of Team Canada.
Votto's answer to John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer when asked if he had decided to play for Canada.
"Not yet, I’m still trying to get my legs under me.”
So far this spring, Votto has gone 3-for-7 at the plate with one home run.
Players are expected to report to the Canadian camp on Sunday.
Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto has not decided if he will play for Team Canada in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, according to John Fay.
Votto, who underwent knee surgery last season, reported to Reds camp "feeling good" but still needs to settle insurance issues before he can play. All indications lean towards him wanted to play, although his long-term health for the Reds organization is what comes first.
