Report: Broncos' Welker suspended 4 games: Team believes he will still play Sunday

Sept 2, 9:57 PM

Reports surfaced Tuesday that Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker would be suspended four games for use of amphetamines, but the NFL has yet to officially announce the suspension.

The Broncos are hoping that means he will be available to suit up this Sunday when they take on the Indianapolis Colts.

Until the league announces it Denver will surely act like Welker will play, but they likely had a contingency plan in place anyway due to his concussion, with Cody Latimer and Andre Caldwell figuring to see more snaps.
