Report: Gomez to sign with Sharks

According to a tweet from TSN's Darren Dreger, free agent forward Scott Gomez is likely to sign a deal with the San Jose Sharks today.

Scott Gomez should officially become a member of the San Jose Sharks today. At least it's headed in that direction now.

Gomez was placed on waivers and became a free agent following the NHL allowing accelerated compliance buyouts in the wake of the lockout. Gomez's struggles were highly publicized last year in Montreal, scoring just 2 goals in 38 games.
