Wade Redden signs with Blues

Free agent defenseman Wade Redden has signed a one-year, $800K contract with the St. Louis Blues a day after being bought out by the New York Rangers. Redden has not played a game in the NHL since 2010 and was expected to be stuck in the AHL for the season. This week, however, the NHL agreed to allow teams to have a accelerated compliance buyout this season which allowed players in Redden's situation to find new teams.
