Report: Heat interested in Greg Oden

Former No. 1 overall pick Greg Oden has reportedly decided to resume his playing career, but not before the 2013-14 season, according to sources for ESPN.com.

The sources indicate the Miami Heat are one of multiple teams that have expressed interest in signing the centre to a deal before seasons end. This would allow teams to monitor his rehab in hopes he can play next season.

Oden, who underwent his third microfracture surgery in February 2012, has failed to play in a NBA game since December 5th, 2009.

In his career, Oden averaged 9.4 points per game in two seasons with the Portland Trail Blazers, playing in 82 games over that span.
