Report: Rangers close to signing Pierzynski

According to a report from FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal, the Texas Rangers are on the verge of signing free agent catcher A.J. Pierzynski to a one year deal. The 36-year-old is coming off a big year that saw him hit .278/.326/.501 to go along with 27 home runs and 77 RBI. Pierzynski would likely platoon with Geovany Soto at catcher.
